At Parfothèque, we curate a private archive of vintage, rare, and discontinued fragrances. Each item is selected for its historical, olfactory, and collectible value.

Due to the unique and non-standardized nature of archive perfumes, we kindly ask you to review this policy carefully before completing your purchase.

Nature of the Collection

Parfothèque is a private perfume archive, not a traditional retail perfumery.

All items offered for sale originate from a personal collection assembled over time through private acquisitions, estate purchases, and individual collectors.
They are not sourced from manufacturers, authorized distributors, or retail supply chains.

Each bottle is offered individually, subject to availability, and once sold, it is generally irreplaceable.

Final Sale Policy

All items sold at Parfothèque are final sale.

We do not accept returns or exchanges for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Change of mind
  • Personal scent preference
  • Expectations regarding strength, longevity, or projection
  • Natural aging or evolution of vintage fragrances
  • Fill level, evaporation, or prior use
  • Packaging condition (with or without original box)
  • Bottle format (spray, splash, stopper)

Vintage and discontinued perfumes are not new products. Natural variations in color, aroma, and performance are expected and do not constitute a defect.

Condition & Product Descriptions

All items are sold as-is.

Each listing is described with care and transparency, including:

  • Whether the bottle is sealed or opened
  • Approximate fill level
  • Presence or absence of original packaging
  • Application format (spray or splash)

Product photographs form an essential part of the description.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have reviewed and accepted the conditions shown and described.

Authenticity Guarantee

All fragrances offered by Parfothèque are 100% authentic.

We do not sell replicas, inspired versions, or counterfeit products.
Items are sourced exclusively from trusted private collections.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We will gladly assist you if:

  • You receive an incorrect item, or
  • Your order arrives damaged due to shipping

To be eligible for review:

  • You must contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Clear photographs of the shipping box, packaging, and item are required
  • The item must remain unused and in the condition received

Claims submitted after 48 hours cannot be accepted.

Refunds

If a refund is approved:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable
  • Return shipping is covered only if the error was ours

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Under the ACL, you are entitled to a replacement or refund if an item has a major fault, or compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Please note:

  • Vintage and discontinued perfumes are collectible items, not new goods
  • Natural aging, evaporation, scent variation, or packaging differences do not constitute a fault
  • Differences in performance, longevity, or aroma compared to modern formulations are expected
  • Change of mind or personal preference does not qualify as a fault under Australian Consumer Law.

Important Notice on Vintage Perfumes

Vintage and discontinued fragrances are acquired for their rarity, heritage, and individuality.

They are not comparable to modern mass-produced perfumes, and their value lies in their historical and olfactory uniqueness rather than uniform performance.

By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and accept:

Are your perfumes new?

No. Parfothèque offers vintage, discontinued, and archive fragrances sourced from private collections. Items may be new, opened, partially used, or show signs of age.

Is Parfothèque a retail perfume store?

No. Parfothèque is a private perfume archive, not a traditional retail store or authorized brand distributor.

Why are all sales final?

Vintage perfumes are collectible items. Once shipped, they cannot be re-authenticated or resold. For this reason, all sales are final.

Can I return a perfume if I don’t like the scent?

No. Scent preference is subjective and does not qualify for a return or refund.

Why do fill levels vary?

Evaporation over time is natural, especially in older bottles. Fill levels are shown in photos and/or described in each listing.

Are color changes normal?

Yes. Changes in color or clarity are a normal part of the aging process and do not indicate spoilage or inauthenticity.

Are the perfumes authentic?

Yes. All items are 100% authentic and sourced either from original brand shops or from trusted private collections.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs of the packaging and item. We will review the case and assist you promptly.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders cannot be cancelled once placed, as items are reserved immediately upon purchase.
